Barański Smart doors feature exceptional technical specifications. Models in this collection stand out for their excellent quality in terms of burglary resistance, sound insulation, and fire resistance. They protect residents from intruders, noise, and the spread of fire in the event of a fire. In apartments, they work great as stairwell doors, but they’re also suitable for use in houses—to separate utility rooms from the living areas of the building. Barański Smart doors are also an ideal solution for large construction projects, hotels, and public buildings such as schools and government offices. The collection includes four models, the construction of which we’ll try to explain. These are the Barański Smart:
- (interior) stairwell doors,
- (interior) stairwell RC2,
- fire-rated (PPOŻ) EI30,
- fire-rated (PPOŻ) EI60.
Barański Smart interior doors – protection against intruders and noise
This model features a frame-and-panel construction. The door leaf frame is made of laminated pine wood. This design provides the door with increased rigidity and strength. The center of the door leaf (the so-called core) is made of perforated particleboard. It provides high sound insulation with a relatively low weight. The entire door leaf is covered with HDF board, finished with high-quality PVC film—resistant to abrasion and mechanical damage. Upon customer request, the door leaf can be finished in the “Smooth RAL” option. In this variant, the HDF board is painted with opaque paints from the RAL color palette.
The door leaf of the Barański Smart interior door is a full 50 mm thick
An important feature of the Barański Smart interior doors is their thickness, which is as much as 50 mm (one of the best “measurements” on the market for models in this category). Combined with the metal flat bars built into the door leaf, this ensures enhanced resistance to damage and forced entry attempts. The door’s exceptional thickness also translates to high sound insulation. The sound insulation coefficient (Rw) for this model is 34 dB. Customers interested in additional noise protection can purchase a special acoustic package that increases the Rw value to 44 dB.
In the standard version, the model is offered with a fixed door frame measuring 100x50 mm. Like the door leaf frame, the door frame is made of cross-laminated pine. The entire unit is finished with PVC film or painted with colors from the RAL palette. An adjustable door frame is also available.
The standard version of the interior doors also includes:
- a double gasket system at the joints between the door leaf and the door frame,
- a set of 3 16 mm diameter hinges with 3D adjustment,
- 3 anti-pry bolts,
- 2 independent locks with two patent cylinders operating on a single-key system,
- a Medos Warszawa door handle available in three colors: stainless steel, antique gold, and black,
- standard peephole in stainless steel or patina finish,
- a set of hinge covers matching the handle color.

RC2 Stairwell Doors – Higher Burglary Resistance Class
The RC2 variant of interior stairwell doors is very similar to the standard model described above. However, it features an even higher level of burglary resistance that meets the criteria for RC2 class. Several factors contribute to this property. First and foremost, the greater thickness of the door leaf. For RC2 stairwell doors, it is 53 mm (50 mm in the standard version).
The hardware also plays a significant role. Three special 3D-adjustable anti-burglary hinges provide the door leaf with greater stability and resistance to forced entry. Six anti-pry bolts serve a similar function (three are used in the standard version).
RC2-class doors provide even more effective protection against break-ins
In addition, instead of two independent locks, the door is equipped with an automatic mortise lock with a strike plate on the frame side. When the door is locked, three bolts automatically extend from the lock, locking the door leaf in the frame. An additional lock is provided by the top bolt installed in a separate, independent top cylinder.
In the RC2 variant, the Medos handle is replaced by the AXA-certified Diva Flex handle with a special cylinder cover. The cylinders also feature a higher level of burglary resistance. RC2 stairwell doors use Class B locks instead of standard patent locks.
As with standard stairwell doors, the RC2 model features sound insulation of 34 dB. However, for an additional fee, the door can be equipped with a special acoustic package providing sound insulation of Rw 44 dB.

EI30 Fire-Rated Doors – Certified Fire Doors
As the name suggests, the primary purpose of fire-rated doors is to limit the spread of fire in the event of a fire. EI30 fire-rated doors are capable of withstanding fire for at least 30 minutes—as confirmed by tests and studies conducted by specialized institutions. You can view the fire-rating certificates for EI30 doors HERE.
These doors are designed specifically for commercial buildings, such as hotels and office buildings, as well as public buildings, such as schools and government offices, and other types of structures subject to stricter fire safety requirements.
EI30 fire-rated doors owe their fire-resistant properties, among other things, to the HALSPAN panel, which forms the core of the door leaf. The structure also consists of stiles. As with stairwell doors, these are made of laminated pine wood. In this case, however, they are significantly thinner, since the HALSPAN panel occupies most of the space.
The door leaf is covered with an HDF panel. It is finished with PVC film or painted with RAL-colored paints—depending on the customer’s preference. The fire-rated door leaf is even thicker than that of a burglar-resistant door. Its total thickness is 56 mm, of which the HALSPAN panel accounts for as much as 50 mm.
The standard version of the EI30 fire-rated door includes a fixed door frame measuring 100x57 mm. It is made of laminated pine and finished—like the door leaf—with an HDF panel. The joint between the door frame and the door leaf is sealed with a special fire-resistant intumescent gasket. When exposed to high temperatures, it expands, thereby limiting the spread of fire.
The standard door configuration features a single-point lock and either the Jowisz stainless steel handle with a narrow backplate or the Jowisz 225 handle with an elongated backplate. The handle’s design complies with fire safety requirements. It allows firefighters to open the door even during operations in high-temperature conditions. The set also includes hinge covers that are color-matched to the handle.
The sound insulation rating for EI30 fire-rated doors is 34 dB. However, in this case, it is not possible to use a different acoustic package to increase sound insulation.

EI60 Fire-Rated Door – Twice the Fire Safety
The EI60 fire-rated model provides even greater fire safety. These doors can withstand fire twice as long as the EI30 variant—that is, for at least 60 minutes. The difference in construction lies in the thickness of the HALSPAN panel. For the EI60 fire-rated door, it is 60 mm—instead of 50 mm, as in the EI30 model—which results in a thicker door leaf overall. In addition, the door frame has also been reinforced. In the EI60 model, its dimensions are 120x57 mm (compared to 100x57 mm for the EI30). Apart from these differences, the EI60 design is identical to that of the EI30.

Barański Smart burglar-resistant and fire-rated doors are a smart investment for any building that requires enhanced protection against threats to the safety or lives of residents and tenants.
