The decision to purchase interior doors is usually simpler than that regarding exterior doors. In the former case, factors related to security and the technologies used play a lesser role. Certain functional aspects, such as soundproofing or the way the door opens, may be important, but aesthetics usually take center stage.
Whether a door is visually appealing depends less on its construction and more on its finish—specifically, the type of materials used and the choice of colors. There are many possibilities, though there are also significant limitations. Not every door model can be finished in any way. For Barański Premium lacquered interior doors, four finish options are available:
- plain oak,
- flader oak,
- RAL texture,
- smooth RAL.
The latter two include a wide range of color options.
Straight Oak – highlights the natural beauty of the wood

The Plain Oak finish in glazed colors highlights the wood’s grain
This is the most popular finish for Premium interior doors. It is made of natural oak veneer with relatively straight grain. The material is coated with a wood stain, which provides adequate protection while preserving the wood’s natural color and grain. This combination creates an attractive visual effect that highlights the beauty of nature.
Fladder Oak – characterized by varied grain patterns
This option is available for select Premium interior door models, primarily those with a simple design, such as the Barcelona C6. Flader Oak, like Straight Oak, is also a natural oak veneer.
The Flader Oak finish works exceptionally well in models with a simple design, such as the Barcelona C6
The difference between the two variants lies in the grain. In the case of Flader Oak, the grain is significantly more varied and “unpredictable” in terms of its pattern. This option also features light-colored glazes, which help preserve the wood’s natural appearance.
RAL Structure – a wide selection of colors
This is an alternative to the wood stain finish. The RAL Structure finish allows you to choose opaque colors from the RAL palette. Importantly, the wood grain is preserved in this variant as well. For example, if you choose RAL 9016 White, you’ll get a door finished in white with a subtly visible wood grain.
The RAL Structure finish subtly highlights the wood grain
Unlike the two previous options, ash wood is used for the finish in the RAL Structure option. This wood varies in color and grain pattern; while it is not suitable for use with wood stains, it works exceptionally well with opaque paints from the RAL palette. This is especially true since it has lower porosity than oak, which helps avoid the unsightly “insufficient paint” effect.
Smooth RAL – a smooth surface, a wealth of colors
As the name suggests, this is a smooth finish that does not “reveal” the wood grain. Instead, the door surface is coated with colors from the RAL palette. In this case, the lacquer is applied to MDF and HDF panels specially prepared for this purpose.
The Smooth RAL finish features smooth doors in a wide range of colors
There are therefore many finishing options for Barański Premium interior doors. This is especially true since the RAL variants offer a rich selection of color options. When deciding on a specific option, it’s worth considering not only the specific characteristics of the door panel itself but also the interior design of the spaces the doors will separate.
