Barański Smart doors are designed for special applications. Depending on the model, they provide enhanced protection against break-ins or fire. Additionally, due to their thickness and advanced construction, they also provide effective protection against noise and heat loss. However, technical specifications aren’t everything.
When choosing doors for an apartment, commercial space, or an entire building, we also consider their aesthetics. While Smart doors are designed with style in mind, it is the customer who decides on the final look of the door finish. Essentially, there are two options to choose from: vinyl film and smooth RAL paint. However, in both cases, a wide range of patterns and colors is available.
PVC Film—An Aesthetic and Cost-Effective Solution
One of the advantages of the first option is its lower price. It involves applying a synthetic PVC film to the surface of an HDF panel, which covers the outer layer of the door. This solution is also aesthetically pleasing, as it ensures pattern consistency and helps avoid the asymmetry and imperfections that often appear on natural wood veneers.
Barański offers nearly twenty different finishing films with a variety of patterns. These include, among others, films that mimic wood (e.g., oak) or concrete, as well as films without a specific texture (e.g., black or anthracite).
High-grammage films—which are thick, durable, and damage-resistant—are used to finish Smart doors. We’ve written more about finishing films in a separate article.

Smooth RAL – 194 colors in the basic palette
An alternative to film is Smooth RAL, which involves painting the doors—a method not used when applying veneer. In this option, the paint is applied in three coats to the HDF panel, ensuring durability and a uniform finish. The standard version of the product line offers four colors: anthracite RAL 7016, white RAL 9016, and two shades of gray: RAL 7040 and RAL 7047.
However, it is possible to paint the doors any other color from the RAL color chart. The standard palette includes as many as 194 colors. There are therefore plenty of options, especially since not every door ordered for a given apartment, house, or commercial space needs to be the same color.
In one of our projects for a preschool, we finished four doors in four different colors: green, pink, blue, and yellow. Combinations like these can really liven up a space and make it feel cozier.
