The aesthetics and functionality of a door are influenced not only by the appearance and construction of the door panel, but also by the specifications of the door frame. Even for models in the Barański Smart series, which feature enhanced security specifications, you can choose a specific door frame variant. Four options are available:
- fixed,
- fixed with a one-way adjustable strip,
- adjustable,
- adjustable PLUS.
Each of the above variants can be combined with any door leaf from the Smart collection.
Fixed door frame – the basic option for all Smart models
The fixed door frame is the basic option, offered as standard with every Smart door panel model as part of the door set price. It is therefore available as standard for Smart doors:
- stairwell doors,
- RC2 building entrance doors,
- EI30 fire-rated (PPOŻ) doors,
- fire-rated (PPOŻ) EI60.
The dimensions of the door frame depend to some extent on the door’s construction. Therefore, there are slight differences between the door frames designed for individual models in the Barański Smart series. The graphic below illustrates an example of the door frame’s appearance and its technical specifications. It is important to note that a fixed door frame—unlike an adjustable one—does not cover the entire width of the wall in which it is installed.

Fixed door frame with an adjustable strip on one side—an additional strip on the side facing the stairwell or the apartment
In this variant, the door frame is fitted with an additional 7-cm-wide strip on one side. The strip can be installed either on the outside (e.g., facing the stairwell or hotel hallway) or on the inside of the apartment, room, or other space. Customers most often choose the latter option—installation on the interior side.
Door frame trim strips are available for an additional fee, depending on the selected door finish. A fixed door frame with an adjustable trim can be enhanced with decorative panels. These provide an attractive aesthetic effect and also make the entire door assembly appear larger.
The illustration below shows a door frame with an interior trim strip as viewed from the hallway and from inside the apartment.

Adjustable door frame – finished with trim on both sides
The adjustable door frame surrounds the wall in which the door is installed across its entire width. On both the exterior and interior sides of the door leaf, it is finished with 7-centimeter trim strips joined at a 45-degree angle. The door frame can have various dimensions, depending on the width of the wall. It can also be adjusted within a 2-centimeter range using a so-called “feather.”
Additionally, the adjustable door frame can be equipped with side panels. This visually enlarges the entire structure and adds elegance to it. The price of the adjustable door frame depends on both its width and the selected finish. There are two options to choose from: foil and smooth RAL. A table summarizing the available dimensions is provided below.

Adjustable Door Frame PLUS – Wider Strip and No Offset
This is a more advanced version of the adjustable door frame. It differs from the standard version in its dimensions and the method of joining the trim. In the PLUS version, the trim strip mounted on the exterior side of the door is 10 cm wide and joined at a 90-degree angle. On the interior side, the trim’s dimensions are the same as those of the standard adjustable door frame.
A major advantage of the PLUS version is the absence of a step at the junction between the fixed part of the door frame and the adjustable part. This allows for a largely uniform surface with a barely visible “transition” at the junction of the elements. In contrast, a distinct step is present in the standard version of the adjustable door frame, as can be seen in the technical drawings (top view).
The PLUS adjustable door frame can be further extended using panel extensions. These allow the outer frame to be widened to 15, 20, or even 30 cm. The technical specifications and size options for the PLUS door frame are presented below.
